John is of counsel to the firm and specializes in insurance defense litigation, construction litigation, and employment cases. He has practiced law for over 20 years. Prior to joining the firm, John specialized in insurance defense, representing several major insurers in surface transportation matters and general casualty litigation. He also managed federal class action litigation for international corporations involving product liability and consumer fraud claims. In addition, John handled professional liability defense focusing on errors and omissions claims against insurance brokers and agents. John also represented employers in a wide spectrum of employment matters, including claims for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and retaliation in federal court, state courts, and before the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.

John also served as assistant corporation counsel for Jersey City, where he was the lead attorney for federal civil rights litigation, including section 1983 claims for false imprisonment, excessive force, substantive and procedural due process violations, and municipal liability. John advised the offices of the mayor and police chief on police litigation issues. He also handled environmental litigation in New Jersey federal and state jurisdictions for chromium remediation and clean-up of 200 orphan sites, groundwater, and river sediment.


Currently a resident of Greenwich, Connecticut, John volunteers in local politics and government. John also volunteers as a consultant to the innovation office for the city of Jersey City, where he recently helped develop a community composting program.
